HowZat Project collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of its own. Everything you enter stays on your own phone unless you deliberately send it somewhere. The only times the app goes online are to unlock the full version and to check that the unlock is still valid, and the app store you installed it from handles both.
Nothing. The app does not collect, transmit or store any personal information about you, your device or how you use it. There is no sign-up, no login and no account.
Your projects, schedules, resources, pricing jobs, cost entries and production records are saved only in the app's private storage on your device. We cannot see it. Nobody else can either.
If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. That is why the app includes a Backup screen — please use it.
There is no server behind this app and no account to sign into. Everything you type stays on your phone, and the app works with no signal at all. It reaches the internet in only two situations, both described below, and both go straight to the app store you installed it from — Apple's App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android — and nowhere else: when you unlock the full version or restore a previous purchase, and an occasional check — roughly once a month — that the unlock is still valid. That check sends nothing but the app's own product code, and if there is no connection the app simply carries on as normal. Nothing you type ever leaves your phone on its own.
The full version is a single one-off in-app purchase. It is not a subscription, nothing recurs, and there is nothing to cancel. The purchase is handled by the app store you installed the app from — Apple's App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android — rather than by us. When you open the unlock screen the app asks the store for the current price in your own currency, and when you buy, the store takes the payment and confirms it back to the app.
We never see your name, your Apple Account or Google Account, or your card details, and none of your projects, rates or costs are sent to the store or to anyone else as part of it. All the app keeps is a single yes-or-no setting on your phone recording that the full version is unlocked. The store's own privacy policy covers the payment itself.
Roughly once a month the app asks the store whether that unlock is still valid, so that a purchase which has been refunded returns to the free version. That check sends only the app's product code — nothing about you and nothing you have entered — and if it cannot reach the store, nothing changes. And if a purchase has been refunded, nothing you have entered is deleted — every project, day and report stays exactly where it is, because the free limit applies only to adding new days.
Refunds are handled entirely by the store, not by us. On iPhone that is reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android it is through your Google Play order history. We are not told who has asked for one and we cannot grant or refuse it.
When you tap Export or Backup, the app hands the file to your phone's standard share sheet. From that point it goes wherever you send it — email, messages, cloud storage — and whoever you send it to can read it. Reports and backups can contain your rates, costs and margins, so treat them the way you would treat any commercial document.
There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking of any kind in this app. The only third-party code inside it is the component that talks to the app store for the purchase and the validity check described above, and it is used for nothing else.
The About screen carries three links out of the app — this website, a support email address, and a LinkedIn profile. Tapping any of them leaves the app and opens your browser or mail app, and from that point the privacy policy of whatever you have opened applies.
The app asks for no permissions — no location, no camera, no contacts, no notifications. Choosing a CSV file to import and sharing a file out both go through your phone's own picker and share sheet, which hand over only the single file you pick.
This is a tool for construction professionals. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Because no data ever reaches us, there is nothing for us to hand over, correct or delete on your behalf. Your data is entirely under your own control: you can edit or delete any record in the app, and deleting the app removes all of it from your device.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published here and the date at the top will change with it.
